Managing a Web Server and Files

by button on July 3, 2008

We have already learned the most important parts of Chapter 6: Setting up the site definition, linking to the server and publishing the Web site. We, of course, did all that back in Week 2. We also learned about exporting a site definition. So that’s 1/3 of the chapter done already. Yeah!

The rest of Chapter 6 is concerned with site maintenance (checking links, colors, alt text, etc.), checking files in and out (only important if you are working with a design team situation). cloaking files, and evaluating content for legal use.

Read lessons 1, 3, 4 and 6, and review lessons 2 and 5.
