About Heather

I have worked in the web design field since 2001, first as an flash animator and web designer then as a webmaster, graphic designer, adjunct professor, and most recently a project manager and in business development.  I specialize in conceptualizing usability and look-and-feel for web sites while scoping, managing, and planning website redesigns from start to finish.   As an adjunct professor of web design I have had the opportunity to teach accessibility standards, time-saving tools like templates, third party plugins, and Cascading Style Sheets, as well as how to convey meaning and direct users with site/information design.  I am currently building my experience with WordPress customization, project management, web usability analysis, Content Management Systems and social networking tools.

My husband, Justin, a radiological technologist and ceramic sculptor, and I share a great little house near Curtis Park, where we are raising our daughter Novella (b. Oct 08), a pup Chongo, and a cat, Jackimo. We love travel, oenology and nature.

• Adjunct Professor, Sacramento City College, Graphic Communication Department
  • Teach beginning and intermediate web design,
  • Topics include table and style sheet layout, design, accessibility, validation, xhtml/CSS hand-coding, built-in Dreamweaver and web browser tools, working with clients, acquiring server rental space, and template management.
• Web Designer / Project Manager, PMC
  • Write proposals, assist clients in RFP development and vendor selection
  • Research and compile Website usability analysis reports, social media guidelines and policies, and functionality and accessibility reviews.
  • Redesign and create websites for various municipalities and agencies.
